Powell River Free-at-55 Travel Club

NEXT MEETINGS:

Hidden Gems of Slow Travel – Mexico

Time: Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 19:00 to 22:00
Place: Westview, Powell River (RSVP for address)

p3Local adventurer, Jean Medley, will share with us some of the hidden gems she and her partner discovered while spending 18 months on a cycle trip through Mexico. She’s talking about those things, places, and attractions that they experienced during their travels — that they had no idea even existed, and only learned of after talking to locals along the way.

You’ll experience more of the wonder that Jean shared in her January article in Powell River Living: http://prliving.ca/no-fear-cycling-mexico/ Maybe get a chance to ask some questions.

And of course, the usual laughter, nibbles, and good conversation.
To receive directions, please set your RSVP status for this Event from Invited to Going. Address will be sent out the week before once we know how many are coming. If your RSVP also includes someone who isn’t on Facebook, please post their name here so we can track numbers. Thanks. See you soon. (To see more about what the group’s about, check the description and various group posts.)

This meeting will be at Carole’s “town home” with assistance from Heather.

Dangerous, Disastrous and Dramatic Travel Tales Round Table

Time: Saturday, September 29, 2018, at 19:00 to 22:00travel
Place: Townsite, Powell River (RSVP for address)

It would be nice to hear a few stories of how some of us survived some harrowing travel experiences. Come prepared to talk about a travel experience that you have had that pushed you beyond your comfort zone, and explain how you lived to tell the tale. We all like to learn from travel drama (2-3 minutes each).

Hosted by Shelley & Chris
